Blue Haus Photography Editing Guidelines for 2026

At Blue Haus Photography, we believe editing is just as important as taking the photos themselves. Our editing process ensures your images look polished, natural, and timeless — while still feeling authentic and true to life. Below you’ll find our 2026 Editing Guidelines, so you know exactly what to expect when we deliver your gallery.

Our Editing Style

Warm tones and a cinematic approach to the way we shoot photos informs our editing style. We try to keep things true-to-life, organic, and timeless.

  • Colors stay natural and vibrant (no trendy filters that will feel dated in a few years).

  • We keep skin tones looking realistic and cohesive to the rest of the image.

  • We adjust the lighting to amplify the natural mood of the shoot.

  • Conveying what it felt like during the shoot and telling your story through the screen is our top priority.

What We Edit By Default

Every photo you receive is edited for consistency and polish. This includes:

  • Exposure & lighting corrections – so images look bright and balanced.

  • Color adjustments – ensuring tones are accurate and flattering.

  • Cropping & straightening – for strong composition.

What We Edit by Request

Some edits take extra care and are available upon request:

  • Removing flyaway hairs

  • Removing people or distractions from the background

  • Cleaning up clutter or unwanted objects in the scene

  • Retouching blemishes or temporary marks

If there’s something specific you’d like us to adjust, let us know — we’ll do our best to accommodate within our guidelines. Making the photos look natural and real is our top priority over any editing requests.

What We Don’t Do

To keep your images authentic, we do not:

  • Alter body shapes, sizes, or features.

  • Apply heavy airbrushing or artificial effects.

  • Make edits that would change the genuine story of the shoot.

  • Any editing requests that we have deemed to be too unnatural or artificial. For example, how erasing wrinkles out of clothing can make it look flat or unnatural. Or how removing a large mass of people may make the background look AI generated.

Consistency Across Your Gallery

Your full gallery is edited in a cohesive, intentional style. This means every photo works beautifully on its own and together as a collection — so whether you’re designing an album, printing wall art, or sharing online, the look stays seamless.

Our Stance on AI Editing

We do use AI-assisted tools to help speed up our editing process — things like sorting images faster or applying consistent base adjustments. These tools allow us to deliver your gallery more efficiently without sacrificing quality.

What we don’t use AI for is changing the reality of what we captured. We believe your photos should remain true, authentic, and natural, and we don’t rely on AI to generate or alter imagery in ways that misrepresent your day or our artistry.

Why This Matters

Editing is how we bring out the emotion, beauty, and storytelling in your photos. Our goal is for your gallery to feel timeless, authentic, and full of life — so you can relive your memories exactly as you remember them.
