Sofia and Kaleb got married at The Briarcliff Manor in Westchester on September 1, 2024, the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. It was the last stretch of summer: green lawns, an overcast morning, and a sunset that showed up right on time.
Getting ready and the first look
Sofiaβs bridesmaids saw her first, and their reactions are some of our favorite frames from the whole day. Then it was Kalebβs turn. He waited by the grand staircase in a rust suit that matched the bridesmaidsβ dresses and the peach and orange bouquet, and the first look turned into a long hug.
A green Cadillac out front
Before the ceremony we took them out to the front steps, where a vintage green Cadillac convertible was waiting. The white columns of the manor, the green car and Kalebβs rust suit made for a palette you couldnβt plan better if you tried.
The ceremony
They said their vows in the garden under a floral arch. Kaleb didnβt make it far before the tears came, and we were close enough to catch it. The walk back down the aisle was all laughs.
Sunset, sneakers and the dance floor
For the reception, Sofia changed into a short dress and sneakers, which tells you most of what you need to know about the party. We stepped out at sunset for a few portraits by the front doors and back under the arch, then went inside, set up our lights and followed them onto the dance floor. The night ended with the Cadillac pulling away, βJust Marriedβ banner on the back.
Planning a wedding at The Briarcliff Manor?
Itβs one of our favorite venues north of the city. The grand staircase, the white columns out front and the garden ceremony site all photograph beautifully, and the light on the front steps near sunset is worth planning your timeline around. If youβre getting married there, weβd love to hear about it.
