Amber and Skydele got married at Cop Cot in Central Park on August 11, 2023. It was a full summer day in the city, and they used every bit of it.
Getting ready in Midtown
The morning started at the Executive Hotel Le Soleil in Midtown, with the Empire State Building right outside the window. Family showed up in matching orange, and the getting ready photos are full of hugs, laughs and last-minute touch-ups.
A ceremony at Cop Cot
They said their vows at Cop Cot, the rustic wooden gazebo on a hill near the south end of the park, with flowers on both sides and guests gathered close. The tree cover gave them shade and soft light even at midday.
A first dance in the park
Instead of heading indoors, they had their first dance right there at Cop Cot, and the dancing kept going from there. Family portraits followed in the same spot.
Portraits around the park
We finished with a walk through the park: the stairs at Bethesda Terrace, the fountain, and Bow Bridge with the skyline behind them.
Planning a wedding at Cop Cot?
It's one of our favorite spots in Central Park for a small wedding. It feels tucked away even though it's a few minutes from Central Park South, and Bethesda Terrace and Bow Bridge are a short walk away for portraits. If you're getting married in the park, we'd love to hear about it.
